Kazakhstan and Tajikistan strengthen cooperation in the field of environmental protection

On the eve of the visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to our country, on the sidelines of the business forum, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zulfiya Suleimenova and Chairman of the Environmental Protection Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Sheralizoda Bahodur signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of environmental protection.
According to this document, the parties will cooperate in accordance with the legislation of their states, on the basis of equality, mutual benefits, taking into account their national environmental policy.
Cooperation will be conducted in several directions, providing for training seminars on environmental education of the population, improvement of state environmental regulation and control in the field of environmental protection, introduction of environmentally friendly resource-saving technologies, improvement of legislation, joint research programs and exchange of experience.
Kazakhstan is particularly interested in regional cooperation as a country dependent on climate change and the inflow of water resources – the basis of the economy and social well-being and sustainability of natural ecosystems.
The parties also noted that cooperation between the two republics in the field of ecology and sustainable development is an important element of our common desire to preserve nature and ensure the well-being of our citizens.
