1. These Rules for maintaining the State Water Cadastre (hereinafter referred to as the Rules) have been developed in accordance with Article 37, paragraph 3, of the Water Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the Code).
2. The State Water Cadastre (hereinafter referred to as the GWC) is a systematic compilation of official data on the quantity and condition of water bodies, the quantity, quality, and use of water resources, the quantity and condition of water management and hydraulic structures, and water users.
A surface water body listed in the State Water Cadastre has a passport that includes its registration number, name, and a comprehensive description that includes quantitative, qualitative, technical, legal, and economic indicators.
